“How do our top-end clients perceive real value”

You have heard the comment “there is a reason, rich people are rich” And the point made in this article resonates: The path laid by luxury goods flash sale sites has shown that there is a strong market for consumers who want to buy luxury but just need to feel like they are getting a better deal than retail.

Flash sales were a brilliant way to move inventory by creating a sense of urgency from a perceived “incredible value” only available for a limited time but it’s no longer just a mechanism for distressed inventory. There is the long-term benefit of converting trial to loyalist.

The key is creating the perception of a great deal. But the big question is, what’s the definition of a “great deal” these days?
